One of the steps to sustainability is to “use every part”. Using what would be considered “waste” in a different system, as a productive part of my system.

These earrings are a wonderful way to honor the chickens that already do so much around here, producing eggs and meat, providing endless entertainment and serotonin boosts, eating bugs, making fertilizer and helping maintain a balanced ecosystem.

These bushy, bouncy feathers come from just above the roosters tail. Stainless steal earring hooks and chains bring out the greys in these iridescent black and red brown feathers. A silver feather bead pops out at the bottom.  Eleven inches long.
