One of the steps to sustainability is to “use every part”. Using what would be considered “waste” in a different system, as a productive part of my system.

These earrings are a wonderful way to honor the chickens that already do so much around here, producing eggs and meat, providing endless entertainment and serotonin boosts, eating bugs, making fertilizer and helping maintain a balanced ecosystem.

This pair is made of feathers from several different birds, blond, grey and white popping between rusty brown and iridescent black. Chunky black and silver chains stand out as the feathers bounce like curls down their 14 inch length.
